To ensure health services would be delivered locally, Oak Valley Hospital District was formed in 1968 by a community general election. In 1970, the hospital district's voters authorized a $1.75 million general bond for the construction of a new hospital and in 1973, the new facility was completed with a total of 33 beds and four private rooms. The hospital is known for its family centered maternity care, women's health services, and surgical and diagnostic imaging services.
