St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital was founded in 1974 by a group of community leaders and later became affiliated with St. John's Regional Medical Center and sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy. The hospital is well known for its Wound Treatment and Hyperbaric Center, the St. John's Diagnostic Center and Family Childbirth Center.
