The Copeland, Forbes and Rossi Cardiac Care Center is changing the delivery of health care in San Luis Obispo County. The Cardiac Care center offers most advanced digital imaging available on the central coast. These technologies not only enhance image quality and accuracy, but in many cases, they reduce examination times and even patient safety. Be assured, the equipment selection was based on physician input. These enhancements are due to incredible community donations which are unprecedented in the history of local health care philanthropy.

Two State-of-the-Art Catheterization Laboratories and Interventional Radiology Suites

MRI with Cardiac Capabilities

• State-of-the-art whole body scanner providing superior image clarity.
• Broad range of applications including: comprehensive breast exams, vascular assessments, cardiac imaging, abdominal and orthopedic imaging.

64-Slice Computed Tomography (CT) Scanner with “Step-and-Shoot” Technology

• French Hospital is the only center on the Central Coast to offer dedicated Cardiac CT with 80% reduction of radiation exposure to certain cardiac patients using the step-and-shoot protocol.
• Increased speed, accuracy, and shorter breath hold time.

C-Arms

• One new C-Arm for vascular surgery.
• Another mini C-arm will be used mainly for orthopedic cases.

Chest Pain Center

• This new technology will allow us to add a new protocol which engages a multi-disciplinary team to quickly and effectively assess and treat chest pain in the Emergency Department.

Renovated Telemetry Unit

• More comfortable and contemporary nurses’ station and patient rooms.
• Increased patient satisfaction.
