Profiles in Health Security

Health security is an issue that affects all of us. Our health, and our access to health care, is as essential to social well being as is the availability of food and shelter. To help bring this important issue to life, we conducted a series of interviews with individuals who are living with varying levels of health security. These interviews revealed the anger of a self-employed mother who can’t afford health insurance for her or her husband, the plight of a hard working father bringing home less money than he did a decade ago in order to keep his children insured, and the resentment of a younger generation witnessing the unfairness of the current health care system.

We’ve posted a few highlights of these interviews here. After watching them, please consider learning more about health security, and the state of health reform in the U.S., by participating in our ongoing health care dialogue at the CHW Thought Blog.
