Ernest H. Urquhart
SVP, Human Resources
Bringing over 20 years of experience in human resources and culture management, Mr. Urquhart is responsible for overall development and leadership of CHW's human resources strategies.
Mr. Urquhart joined CHW from Harcourt, Inc., a leading global provider of premier life-long learning products and services through its 13,000 employees in 23 countries. He was a member of the executive team as Senior Vice President Human Resources Worldwide. At Harcourt, he was known as a respected executive leader who specialized in building trust and facilitating strong relationships within and between individuals and business units in order to accomplish common goals. He has a track record of successfully implementing innovative systems, programs and measurements for key areas, such as reward and recognition, training and learning, diversity and inclusion, as well as overall organizational and employee effectiveness. He has successfully implemented shared services models in multi-unit matrixed systems.
Prior to joining Harcourt, Mr. Urquhart was Vice President, Human Resources and Administrative Services for Fisons Corporation in Rochester, New York, the largest pharmaceutical operation of Fisons, PLC. He also held increasingly responsible human resources positions in the family of Johnson and Johnson companies, lastly as Vice President, Human Resources at Johnson and Johnson's Pharmaceutical Research Institute, where he oversaw an operation of 1,600 employees in the United States, Canada and Europe.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Pennsylvania State University. He has completed additional education and training at University Associates in San Diego, the human resources executive program at the University of Southern California and executive programs at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
