Strengthening Communities

Healthcare is a community practice.

Our staff, our patients, our facilities are all woven into the intricate fabric of the diverse communities we serve. So we take our healing ministry far beyond our front doors to foster the health and well-being of our local neighborhoods, our broader society, and our interconnected world.

We partner with community stakeholders in assessing health needs and identifying priorities. We grant awards and make socially responsible investments in support of hundreds of community-based initiatives, providing access to jobs, housing, food, education, and health care services for low-income and minority communities. We recognize our responsibility to the Earth and its connection to human health and incorporate environmental programs and practices into our work and our buildings.

And we see our current national health care system in crisis and are actively advocating for change—for true health care reform that will make access and affordability a reality for everyone.

Investing in Communities
We like to put our money where your needs are. Through our community grants and investment programs, socially responsible investing, shareholder advocacy, and community benefit reporting, we hold ourselves accountable to our communities and to each other.

Community Benefit Reports
Each CHW facility collaborates with community partners to assess the community’s health assets and needs, identify health priorities, and develop the proper programs to achieve the right outcomes. See what we’re doing in your community here.
