CHW is committed to the mission of healing and learning and therefore supports the program of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) in accordance with the Standards of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc.  CHW's mission for this program is to promote the development and delivery of excellent spiritual care to patients, family members, and staff through the education and training of our students in ministry skills and in intra-personal and inter-personal awareness.

Bay Area Center for CPE fulfills this mission by creating a collaborative, interfaith and clinical learning environment in which CPE students develop their skills in pastoral reflection, pastoral formation, pastoral competence and pastoral specialization.

In the CPE educational program and spiritual care delivery, we affirm and uphold the CHW core values of dignity, collaboration, justice, stewardship, and excellence.
